THANK YOU TO OUR SUPPORTERS!!
In the past month we have received generous donations (in various forms) from supporters. Some of our most recent are -
Sebert Lopez, a friend of a friend of mine heard about Big Rig Books and what we are all about, so he took it upon himself, unbeknownst to us, to host a book drive for us. "I vowed to do whatever I could to help keep the Big Rig rolling because what you do is really needed."
What an AWESOME person!!! Just received another 3 boxes of great books for Bert.
Julie Bailey and Family for over 500 gently used books donated FROM HER OWN FAMILY COLLECTION!!! How is that possible that a family could have that many books of their own? And here is what she said about us..."your gratitude has meant the world to me - this is the best charitable giving experience I have ever had! I want to publicize you and help as much as I can." Her kind words meant the world to us
Far Away, Inc owner, Mike Eiserman, for a very generous financial donation. He also owns Skinny Pop popcorn. Try it, you'll love it!
Our fuel tanks were almost empty, and because of his donation, we now have enough fuel to last the rest of our Chicago season and can make it to Fort Myers in November!
Really Big News...
Thanks to one of our biggest friends and supporters, Joan Metz, we are now a charity on Amazon.com. If someone wants to support us financially, they can buy from smile.amazon.com, just as they would normally on Amazon.com. It is easy. Just choose Haulin' For Humanity (BIg Rig Books' parent organization), as your preferred charity. Then Amazon.com will give us .05% of whatever you purchase-at no extra cost to you!!! How awesome is that! Please tell your friends and family (Facebook is a great way). We need all the support we can get to keep the Big Rig filled with children's books.
Our good friend and supporter, Tiffany Cruickshank, is hosting "Make A Difference Mondays" at her store in Downers Grove, Peak Running. If you donate a book to Big Rig Books and make a purchase, she will give us 10% of the sale. It's a win/win. It is also a win for her customers because she has a unique selection of performance running shoes that not many other stores carry. PLUS, she is a wealth of knowledge regarding running and fitness.
